I finished enders game. and im still not so sure how I feel about the whole thing, so ill get back to you.
I forgot to bring my camera to the apartment today- but holding the keys in my clenched fist was exhilarating. I browsed IKEA for about 3 hours and you´re officially going to shit when you see my bed. I cannot fathom an uglier €5 sleep set. hideous. but see dad? im sacrificing! im that poor girl with the ugly bedspread. its like blue and red sort-of-flowers but kind of american pride-y. yeah.
I got a salad bowl and some tossers to boot. three loofas. hangers. blankets. a circular rug. a jar for candy so people like me better. swedish fish for my candy jar. glasses for drinking- water. three towels (red white and blue- themed!). a tea thing- i dont know what you call it but its for an individual mug, fantastic invention. it all amounted to only 67 euros and if you saw my bags you wouldnt believe it. really amazing.
i rearranged furniture and Im really happy with how it turned out. i still really need art and new curtains- one is psychadelic flowers, one is african print- complete with zebras and giraffes, and one is plain pink. ahh. i have a plant on top of my closet and im not sure what to do with that. my roommates weren´t there both times i went so im not sure if thats a good or bad thing.
oh and i got napkins as well.
I go to a school on monday to finalize my new working hours- woo hoo (big thumbs up to the computer screen). Ive learned that many other au pairs are looking to find apartments so its nice to know im not alone in my.. well ill leave that alone. its us right? hmm.
Im going to spend my first night there on thursday- ill document with photos and beer or wine or both- its a party you know?
so far so good. but who knows what will happen?
stay tuned

But Bush obviously isn't going to be re-elected, so regardless of who gets elected there will be some kind of change. The Democratic party supports more government involvement-that is one of their platforms. I don't agree with their views on taxes and welfare. I also don't care too much about how 'the rest of the world' feels about America. We've bailed much of the world's dumb asses out of situations that they involved themselves in, and much of the world is just as dependent on us as we are on them. The election of one Republican is not going to change that and doom America. The government is a lot larger than just the President-we're not talking dictatorship here. Sometimes I hope Obama does get elected so that we'll have a democratic president and house. Then when things get even worse maybe all the bleeding heart liberals will shut the fuck up (probably not-they'll find a way to blame Bush). In all honesty I'm not that politically savvy nor do I care much about politics. Plus the whole point of having a bipartisian government is so people can choose based on their beliefs, there's supposed to be conflict. Hope you're still loving Spain. I'm definitely heading to Scotland and Ireland this summer-so maybe we can meet up and party it up in Ireland!
