intrinsic- adjective- belonging to a thing by its very nature, belonging to or lying within a given part, see inherent.

Not that I should have to explain myself in my blog. you got me, whoever you are, because now my pride wont let me blog away those pesky comments (I imagine them being typed by someone with raised eyebrows, ugh).

I was comparing myself to the previous au pair, not that I have to do that alone as the comparisons come almost daily from someone, and I was wondering what makes us so different.
Well, he is a man, 26 years old, English, football player- thats enough to make a world of difference to a 13 or 10 year old boy- but what else am I lacking? Now, I know the english are supposedly famous for their manners but listen, I went to cotillion for 2 years and I still dont see anything wrong with breaking out in song at the table.

So perhaps he is much more mature than I am, maybe he has a presence that makes one adore and obey him, maybe he has intrinsic qualities that have nothing to do with his gender, age, background, etc that make him much more adept at this job. I dont know, I think it has more to do with the former and if only I had those mysterious inherent characteristics I could make up for a penis, an accent, and life experience.


Alas, I think the wisdom I gain from this job will be best suited to another, similar post in France maybe.. who knows? Id love to be trilingual at least.
